Community Manager Conference
On 9 July 2010, the world's first ever Community Manager Conference brought together the experts in community management for a first opportunity for focused professional dialogue. Coordinated in its subject selection and organisation by Two Pi Team, the conference was held as part of the GCO Business Talks. Donna Prior, Sean Kauppinen, Martin Rabl, Jörg Koonen and Iain Compton are just some of the well-known names – but for most community managers and experts in the industry, attending the world's first Community Manager Conference was a must.
Among other objectives, the Conference set out to give tangible expression to experiences in cooperation between community and marketing managers and to provide a platform for innovations. Against the backdrop of the way in which communities play a central role as an economic factor, the increasing importance of the community manager and the corresponding professional profile became apparent.
Contents here ranged from the importance of social media for community management, through the need for successful localization if a product is to succeed, and on to psychological impacts within communities. From 10.00 to 18.00 hours, visitors were able to take an active part in discussions and in the course of the GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE, were able to intensify existing contacts and set up new ones.
