Community Event
Germany’s biggest community get-together for online gamers
From 9 to 11 July, the GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE will be the event of the year for the online gaming community. We invite all clan, guild, team, corporation, fan and website forum members to join us for three days of meetings, interchange and partying.
You can expect a full programme with plenty of highlights. With Two Pi Team at our side, we are in the process of finalising the programme and preparing the highlights. A glimpse of the backstage area in our activities shows you the preparations for
Guild & Clan Conference
On the Friday of the fair, the first Guild & Clan Conference not only gives you the opportunity of dialogue with partner communities, but above all, gives you a chance to put your questions to game developers, publishers and community managers. Starting it all off, an exclusive guild panel focuses on current developments in community activity. Workshops for web page designers and discussions on clan life provide wide-ranging information for successful guild development.
GCO Community Card and location guide
The Gothic Guild has already agreed to attend and is inviting up to 250 members to its guild meeting at the GCO and in Leipzig. If you too would like to hold your community get-together with us, we’re happy to help with the choice of your evening venue and we’ll give you your own GCO Community Card, entitling you to reductions in Leipzig’s city centre when it comes to accommodation, eating, drinking and partying. Reduced rates are also available for a quiet evening at the cinema and other cultural events.
Community Party
On the Friday evening of the fair, we join you and the gaming industry for the GCO Community Party in the Beachclub on the outdoor area. Party on far into the night with music from live bands or the Radio DJ Battle. Sports activities and drink specials are included!
Community Zone
The Community Zone in planet-look will be the central meeting place in the exhibition hall, featuring a spacious lounge, a stage – the Community Stage – and an exhibition area for guilds and fan websites, game producers and the open-view development studio. The lounge can be somewhere to talk in a relaxed atmosphere between onstage programmes. Your guild or fan website can introduce itself with a small stand, attract new members and meet up with old familiar faces. The open-view development studio provides a glimpse behind the scenes in the development of an online game – from the first idea to publication. Small workshops here also give you the chance to have a go yourself. The Community Stage will host the programme of familiar competitions such as the championship “Meister der Erkundung”, Live Adventure and the MMO Allround Talent contest, as well as live raids with well-known teams.
Recruitment Day
On Sunday, Recruitment Day is being held in both the CCL and the Community Zone. Here, you can find out about current jobs in the industry and opportunities for training, backed up by workshops on the Community Stage to help with job applications, the presentation of games ideas and how to get into the gaming business.
Do you lead the pack? More information here!
We’ve got room for your community. Introduce yourself and your community; reunite with a community get-together at the GCO! The media opportunities of a stage presentation are available to you, or get yourselves a guild stand in the Community Zone. The Two Pi professionals are happy to advise in the Forum or just send a brief e-mail to community (at) gamesconvention (punkt) com.
