GCO proudly champions international exchange. After all, looking abroad isn’t just fascinating and exciting – in future it will be crucial to market success. With its partner country strategy, GCO introduces a certain market to visitors every year, examines its culture, establishes political contacts, and above all brings leading market players to GCO to facilitate direct business ties.

South Korea’s role as the first partner country at GCO’s debut in 2009 prompted a huge media response. In South Korea, online and mobile games haven’t just become established – they now lead the field unchallenged. Plenty of Korean exhibitors could be met in Leipzig who previously hadn’t had any business contacts in Germany at all. And shortly after the first GCO, most of the exhibitors from South Korea decided they would return to Leipzig in 2010.
