Exklusives Partnerland der GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE 2009 war Korea, der weltweite Vorreiter und Trendsetter im Bereich Online und Mobile Gaming. Mit insgesamt 19 Unternehmen präsentierte sich das asiatische Land dem Publikum der GCO und erstmals in Europa.

Im Publikumsbereich der GCO befand sich in der Consumer World (Halle 2) der Koreanische Pavillon. Hier stellten die Unternehmen Ihre Spiele, unter denen sich zahlreiche Europa- und Deutschlandpremieren befanden, den Besuchern vor.

"Die GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE ist für koreanische Publisher das Tor zum europäischen Online-Gamingmarkt. In Leipzig haben wir erstmals die Möglichkeit, uns den Spielern zu zeigen und Kontakt mit Branchenvertretern aufzunehmen," freut sich Il Kim, Direktor der Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), einer dem koreanischen Ministerium für Kultur, Sport und Tourismus unterstellten Organisation zur Förderung der Kreativwirtschaft. Gemeinsam mit der KOTRA, der koreanischen Außenhandelsgesellschaft, sowie der SBA, einer Seouler Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft, organisiert die KOCCA die koreanische Beteiligung auf der GAMES CONVENTION ONLINE.
